The Orestone Manor is situated in an idyllic location with breathtaking views over the bay and towards the Oreston Rock - from which the establishment derives it's name!
There are two towns very close by, Torquay, which has a very cosmopolitan feel with a range of boutiques, wine bars, bistros and restaurants to choose from. There are plenty of attractions for you to enjoy. Take a horse drawn carriage ride from the sea front to the ancient village of Cockington or visit the Living Coast where you can see aquatic life close at hand, or even play a round of golf at Torquay Golf Course just over a mile away.
Teignmouth is your other nearest town which has a great deal to offer for the visitor. It is an historic port on the mouth of the Teign estuary. It has all the attractions of a seaside town with its Victorian Pier, elegant prominade, quay and harbour. The beautiful beach and "den" area often hosts activities throughout the summer and has a newly refurbished mini golf "pitch and putt" and childrens play area.
Shaldon is also well worth a visit with its beautiful old fashioned fishermens cottages and botanical gardens. Take a visit to the rare breeds Shaldon Wildlife Zoo and secluded Smugglers beach.
There are a host of other delightful areas to discover in and around the bay. Ask at the reception where a member of staff will be happy to help.
Being situated on the South West Coastal Path, we attract many walkers - and we can recommend three beautiful walks very closeby:
Considered to be one of the finest in the south!
